How do you fix a broken front seat?
If you remove the seat from the car and then remove the runners (5 bolts) this allows you to unhook the cable from the latch. Move the levers on the latch until it clicks into the released position (tap them with a big screwdriver and/or lever them until it clicks). When this latch jams, it stops the seat locks from engaging properly.

Where is the latch on the back of the seat?
From your pics, it looks like the latch hole in back of the seat is partially exposed from the trunk. In mine it isn’t. It’s completely hidden…apparently nearer the outer edges/sides of the seat than on yours.
