Can you use a regular pump for shocks?
Due to the small volume of the air chamber in forks and shocks, the amount of air loss a normal tire pump would allow would be unacceptable. You may also have a difficult time reaching the pressures required using a tire pump.
Are all shock pumps the same?
You can use any pump that accepts a schraeder valve. Doesn’t even have to be a shock specific pump. As long as the head will screw or otherwise attach to the schraeder valve it will work.
What to do if there is no power to the air suspension pump?
If there is no power going to the air suspension compressor, check the air suspension fuse and relay. Here is a picture that shows no power to the air suspension pump. The next step would be to use a professional diagnostic scanner such as the iCarsoft MB II to check the fault codes for the Air Suspension Control Unit.
How do you measure the SAG on a shock pump?
Gently get on the bike with the shock and fork open (put both feet on the pedals) and then gently step off. Measure the sag based on the distance of the O-Ring from the base. If you less than 25%, let some air out. On my shock pump, there’s a little button so I can let very small increments of air out. You can see the O-ring in the photo.
How to set up your shock and fork suspension on the bike?
Ideally for an XC set-up, you want to start with 25% sag. Push the rubber O-Rings down the base of the shock and fork. Have your friend hold up your bike facing you and holding the handlebars with the front tire between their knees.
How does Mercedes Benz air suspension work on the road?
The driver can select the driving mode, switching between Comfort and different Sport modes. The vehicle level is continually monitored and readjusted whenever there is a difference of more than +/- 20 mm. The suspension will also adapt to the road conditions and the driving style.

How does an air bag suspension system work?
An air bag suspension system serves the same purpose as a standard suspension system, however, instead of using metal springs and liquid filled shocks, it uses a system of inflatable air bags filled with compressed air to suspend the vehicle off the ground. One of the most important components of an air bag system is the compressor.
What to do if your Mercedes air suspension is broken?
If you suspect you are having Mercedes S430 air suspension problem, don’t wait. Take your car to your mechanic right away for a diagnosis. Brand new, nothing rides like a well-engineered air suspension. The one that came stock in your S430 is one of those.
Can a air suspension system function without an air compressor?
The suspension system cannot function without it. If the compressor is failing to come on at all, then that is a sign that it has either failed or it is having an issue. The air compressor is what provides the air suspension system with compressed air required for it to function.
