Can you hear a clicking from the brake pedal?
This can be physically felt through the pedal when it is depressed. I just tested and it seems to occur regardless of the car being in motion, parked, on, or off. When turned over you can hear an electric engine engaging while depressing the pedal, coinciding with the click. My car has 79597 miles. My car has an automatic transmission.
Why do my pedals click when I sit?
Try riding in different ways to break it down to the area, i.e. free wheeling whilst sitting, whilst standing, pedal while standing, push harder on one pedal compared to the other etc etc. Found it was just my pedals needed taken off and a little grease adding. No further problems.

If you can reproduce the noise in Park by pressing the brake pedal a few times, but it doesn’t do it out of park, then you’ve isolated that it’s the brake/shift interlock.
