Can I use OverDrive instead of Libby?
Libby is a newer app released by OverDrive. It has the same collection of titles as the OverDrive app – it’s just a different way to access the same digital library collection. OverDrive is the “classic” app, and is compatible with more devices, including Kindle Fire and Windows mobile devices.
What if my library doesn’t use OverDrive?
Your library doesn’t have a digital collection with OverDrive. If you can’t find your public library via Libby’s search, we recommend that you contact your library to let them know you’re interested in using OverDrive’s services, including Libby. They’ll need to build a collection with us or join a nearby consortium.
How do I find my OverDrive app?
First, open your OverDrive app and tap the “add a title” icon. Once you are to the page that displays the OverDrive library you are all set to search for that perfect book/subject/genre. If you would like to search for a specific subject, tap the 3 horizontal lines at the top right of your app.
How do I use OverDrive without a library card?
Your library provides OverDrive with a list of zip codes to define your service area. Users put in their phone number and, if it matches the zip codes in your service area, they’re provided access to your OverDrive digital library. The entire process takes 30 seconds.
Why did my OverDrive stop working?
Make sure you’re using the latest version of the OverDrive app by going to the App Store and checking for updates. After updating, check to see if your issue is resolved. Close the OverDrive app completely by swiping it up from your app switcher. Then, open the OverDrive app and see if your issue is resolved.
