I have a 2008 Smart. i have a 2008 smart and I can confirmed that when the battery is dead “enough”, the door lock will not work. The key acts as a switch to actuate the electric lock to unlock the car. In the past I was lucky enough that the I simply can’t lock the car. This time I can’t unlock it.
