Can a car go over 3, 000 RPMs?

Mine WILL rev over 3,000 RPM’s – it just starts coughing at 85 mph and shuts down at about 90 mph. I found that out the first time I got mad at an old woman doing 25 mph on the highway and passed her. 6,000 RPM’s when it downshifted, in nothing flat! Probably a good thing it shuts down at 90 mph, too, since it gets a bit squirrelly at that speed!

How big is a 2003 Mercury Marauder Car?

At the track, the Marauder acquitted itself satisfactorily, but it is, after all, a 2.14-ton bolus, and it does not produce voluminous thrust at the pushrod-low revs of an Impala SS. With only 1500 miles on the clock, our test car scrabbled to 60 mph in 7.5 seconds (versus 6.5 for the Impala SS, 6.0 for our supercharged Lounge Lizard).

Why does my mercury not accelerate past 3000 rpm?

Compression, you’ve nailed that one down, all looks fine as far as ring seal. Ignition, still undetermined, DVA testing stator output and/or verifying spark on all cyls when the problem arises still needs to be done. A motor can rev freely UN-loaded, but as load raises so does the demand for a high intensity spark.

When did the first Mercury Marauder come out?

With its appearance in the 19631/2 Mercury lineup, the Marauder name essentially designated a fastback roofline on Montereys. Six months later, Montclairs and Park Lanes could also be configured as Marauders. The idea was to satisfy stock-car racers searching for slicker aerodynamics.

Where does the Mercury Marauder hang out of?

Mercury hangs a left out of Sunset Acres and—whoa!—finds itself more or less in the middle of Woodward Avenue. It would be childish, unseemly, and heroically pointless to accuse Ford of a copycat crime. But, hey, childish and unseemly?
