Can a car be reversed on the left front wheel?
The thing I found odd was that when the driver later reversed the car down off the truck – the left front wheel worked just fine. So the car works perfectly in reverse, but in drive the left wheel locks then releases then locks then releases. Any advice or assistance on what the problem is would be greatly appreciated.

The answer for the 1995 Silverado was the rear self adjusting brakes. Instead of adjusting, it was locking. Dealer fixed it along with some other things. It was about $600 at the small town dealer.

Truck is a 1995 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Z71 4 x 4, with 103,000 miles. Are you sure the wheels are locking? I would be suspicious of the park pawl dropping into place due to a linkage adjustment. Is it a 4L60-E trans?
