Although cool in theory, the kompressor on this little 230 was constantly overworked (or maybe she just has a heavy foot) It ended up having lots of problems after 4 years of ownership, with the kompressor giving out and the engine eventually just calling it quits and losing compression altogether at just 120,000 miles.

I went through the search process and decided to get 2001 (facelift year) or newer. Ended up with a 2001 SLK320 (V6) but 230 is a good car. You might want to watch this video, very informative and entertaining.
