Are Grado cartridges good?
They have excellent detail without being harsh or analytical. Sound wise, the Gold3 is competitive with far more expensive moving coil cartridges. It’s smooth but not dull and has excellent bass without being boomy or muddy, a fantastic pure midrange, and great highs without being bright.

How long does a Grado stylus last?

Are Grado cartridges moving magnet?
No. Grado haven’t made a moving coil since the early 60’s. You don’t need any extra step-up. The 8MZ is a top of the line one, equivalent to the old Gold model, but with an even nicer stylus.

How good is Lenco GL75?
It is a really nice deck. The GL75 is currently awaiting transplant into a new top plate and plinth. Even in stock form with a Pickering V15 it is a great sounding table majoring on slam and bass solidity. I think the Lenco can probably end up the better proposition properly fettled but the 150 is certainly no slouch.
Is grado a MM or MC?
Technically, they are moving-iron cartridges, but the principle is very similar to MM. As Mike said, you do not need a step-up device…
Is it bad to play dirty records?
They’re all bad for your record, and they’re bad for your stylus. Over a shorter amount of time than you think, constantly playing dirty records will wear down your stylus to the point of the needing to be replaced. Scratched records do this too, but dirt is much worse.
