Why is the traction light blinking on my Subaru Forester?
Left the Service center and went about 7 miles and the traction light, service engine light came on and the cruise control light started blinking. Returned to Service center and they found an error code for a faulty catalytic converter.

Guess I will be taking it to the stealership. Make sure the key was on, engine off. If it was your scanner software may not be up to date. Ive had the CEL come on with the cruise flashing. Pulled the code and found out it was the turbo wastegate solonoid malf. It happens at WOT 6k rpm or higher.

The flashing cruise is normal with any CEL on the drive-by-wire Subarus. Just get the code read & reset. i have a 2006 with the same mileage roughly and mine just did that turning onto my street tonight. so do i have to go to the dealership to reset it? being that i dont have a code reader or any idea of how to reset

Click to expand… Check your gas cap. Take it off, then tighten it all the way back on, then drive for a bit and see if it turns off. Subaru is VERY safety conscious. If it detects a fault, it shuts off ALL driver assist functions, thus, your dash lights like a Christmas Tree.
