Why is the evaporator core on the passenger side?

Why is the evaporator core on the passenger side?

The evaporator core is on the passenger side of the vehicle on most makes, so that is why you get cold air on the passenger side. By the time the cold air makes it to the driver’s side, it has picked up a lot of heat, and you feel the difference. If I have helped, please hit the thanks button. I wanted to thank you guys for posting this info.

When does climate control switch to air recirculation mode?

If an increased amount of pollutants is detected in the air, when reversing or when the wipe/wash function is activated, the climate control switches automatically to air recirculation mode to prevent the vehicle’s own exhaust gases, for example, from entering the vehicle interior.

How does the a / C work on the passenger side?

You have two air mix control dampers; one for the driver’s side and one for the passenger side that are independently controlled and operated by electric servo motors. It sounds like your a/c is operating fine since you get cold air on the passenger side.

What causes a climate control module to fail?

Climate Control Module is defective. When the Heater Valve becomes faulty, it begins to draw too much current, which causes the Climate Control Module to become damaged (i.e. failure due to over-current condition). 4. Harness/wiring problems between the Heater Valve and Climate Control Module.

What does dual zone automatic climate control do?

Dual ComforTemp is actually a clever cheat, as it still (mostly) a single zone ATC. This system still only had a single interior thermostat and single temperature display, so all the passenger control did was adjust the blend door on the passenger side to mix in a little extra warm (or cool) air relative to what the driver was getting.

Where is the remote climate control module located?

Cars equipped with navigation use a Remote Climate Control Module (RCCM). The RCCM is hidden behind the glovebox. Both modules are very similar electrically. They are, however, different enough that a nav version cannot be substituted for a non-nav version (unless the whole nav system is swapped in as well), and vice versa.

What was the first car with automatic climate control?

As I covered in my previous installment, the first car with fully automatic climate control was the 1964 Cadillac. Lincoln got automatic climate control in 1966, and Chrysler in 1968. But these were all single zone systems.
