How is the blower fan on a Kia Sportage Gen 2?
Hi i have had some experience with the blower fan on the Sportage gen 2. One thing to note is the term resistor is a misnomer on this model and it uses a an electronic MOSFET chip to control the speed. The fan is fed with 12 volts on the positive wire all the time the ignition is on via a relay and 40 amp fuse.
What does it mean when your car fan is not working?
When we turn the dial on there is no noise meaning no working blower! There was also no warning noise, nothing, or smell. So, have you tested the voltage and the earth connection at the fan blower plug? As per the first reply. Whichever is not present needs investigation.

How does the climate control work on a Kia?
Some of the KIA models use an FET to control the blower motor at lower speeds and this allows the climate control to adjust the blower speed as needed – I guess yours does not do that, so a resistor is favourite. It’s a Resistor Pack. 3 different resistances for Speeds 1 to 3 and bypassed for 4.
