Why is my Saab 9 3 convertible not working?
May be the relay and or fuse has burnt out. This sometimes happens when you do not use the roof for a period of time (say over a cold winter), the seals/rubbers stick together and puts a strain on the motor – taking out the fuse and sometimes the relay.

My 10 plate stopped mid cycle once and blew a fuse, leaving roof half open. Replaced fuse and no probs since, so suggest check fuses under bonnet. firstly, dig out the owners handbook and find the section on fuses/fusebox and check the fuse for the roof is OK. also check if the relay is clicking. May be the relay and or fuse has burnt out.

This sensor is a part of the soft top storage and detects the lowest position of the “tray”. The switch is located on the soft top bag drive mechanism, to the left of the “wire reel”; follow wire to its black connector.
Why is the hall switch on my Saab not working?
The switch is apparently triggered by an arm lowering towards its front (be aware I’ve never seen the boot of a CV ), i.e. when the storage is lowered. As the Hall switch works on the principle of an electrical field, the culprit of the issue could be the arm/metal not getting close enought to provide stability of switch operation.
What causes a Saab 93 convertible soft top failure?
The tailgate is also closed. The problem arises when you press the button to fold the roof down. The back of the roof (rear window section) releases and comes up about 1-2 inches and goes no further, along with a warning display on the SID unit stating ‘SOFT TOP FAILURE’. I imagine its not going to be anything to serious!?!?! Any suggestions???
How can I reset Saab 9.3 convertible roof?
Remove the plastic trim – held on by 4 screws and 2 pop out plastic cllips. Undo the 8 large bolts that hold the cover in place – 2 on top and 3 on front and back.Then lift up the cover from the front edge. Is there a problem with my Saab roof?
Recently a problem has occured with the roof mechanism and before I submit myself to the mercy of the nearest Saab dealer, I am seeking some advice. It all started one day when raising the roof when I heard a slight clunking noise whilst raising the roof – it sounded like something either breaking or disconnecting!

In the boot / trunk there’s a large hinged flap across the whole width. If any luggage here pushes this flap up even a little then this is sensed (by micro switch or hall effect sensor?) then the roof will be stopped & “Soft top blocked. Remove obstruction and try again” displayed.
