May be the relay and or fuse has burnt out. This sometimes happens when you do not use the roof for a period of time (say over a cold winter), the seals/rubbers stick together and puts a strain on the motor – taking out the fuse and sometimes the relay.

Replaced fuse and no probs since, so suggest check fuses under bonnet. firstly, dig out the owners handbook and find the section on fuses/fusebox and check the fuse for the roof is OK. also check if the relay is clicking. May be the relay and or fuse has burnt out.

Remove the plastic trim – held on by 4 screws and 2 pop out plastic cllips. Undo the 8 large bolts that hold the cover in place – 2 on top and 3 on front and back.Then lift up the cover from the front edge. Is there a problem with my Saab roof?

Recently a problem has occured with the roof mechanism and before I submit myself to the mercy of the nearest Saab dealer, I am seeking some advice. It all started one day when raising the roof when I heard a slight clunking noise whilst raising the roof – it sounded like something either breaking or disconnecting!
