Why is my Phazer 2 carburetor not working?
Common issues above 1/4 throttle involve the circuits used at a certain throttle position. at 1/4 you say it runs good so your Pilot jet and Pilot air screw are ok. 1/4-1/2 is all throttle valve and jet needle (maybe the jet needle is dirty/damaged/not in correct position.
How do you remove carbs from a 1990 Phazer?
Pull the airbox back and you will have enough real estate to remove the carbs. You might want to remove the small intake snorkel on the airbox intake. You will have the fuel lines that are a pain and will most likely be hardened up. The choke cables dont loose the plungers and springs in the belly pan.
What does 1 / 4 full mean on a Phazer?

I am having the hardest time finding out the mid-high range throttling problem of my 96 Phazer II. I have completely cleaned and blown out the carbs and all jets.

Is the butterfly carb in Phazer too finicky?
The butterfly carbs in Phazers are very finicky when they are dirty and there are a lot of small passageways that may be dirty or clogged. Also make sure that your float level is set correctly, if it is too low that will also give lean symptoms.

Phazers have butterfly carbs, so there is no needle like in a normal round or flat slide carb. Ok, if it runs better when you pull the choke, that usually means you are lean. But that does not mean the mains are to small.
