Why is my fuel pump not working on my BMW K?
The switch is in the circuit for the fuel pump relay coil, and if the switch is not electrically closed, the fuel pump will not operate. Those of us with sidecar rigs simply remove the switch and join the wires.
What does no start, no fuel pump mean?
Not sure if that is the problem though as that fuse may get power after a relay closes? fuse is good. Any other ideas? No start, no spark, no fuel pump. working on my 2008 screaming eagle ultra classic that I just got. Engine is a no start.
What is the part number for a BMW fuel pump?
The stock pump was made by Bosch, and the Bosch number is 0 580 463 999. The BMW number is 16-12-1-461-576. Don’t use hyphens if using on-line fiche and finding by part number. Napa may list their part as: 2P74095. Advance Auto Parts may have it under E-2042. If you need some gas hose to fabricate some shimming, try Napa 1030.

How can I get my fuel pump to run?
Swap an accessory fuse wuth the ignition fuse and give it a whirl. also if I use a “power probe” and apply battery voltage to the fuel pump fuse the fuel pump does run. thanks nipplesurfer, I did try that yesterday.
Why does my fuel pump run hot when I shut off the engine?
This is due to the fact that when you shut off the engine with a low fuel level; the fuel can drain from the priming chamber designed into the fuel delivery system. So when you restart your car, the pump runs hot and un-primed until it can refill the fuel chamber. Over time this will burn out the pump motor.
