Why is my CDI crank sensor not working?
Could be air in the fuel lines, quite common. Olives eventually harden and let air in. Crank sensor is usually from a hot start. As Pete above or a injector leaking off too much fuel!! Car was stood all last week. Not used at all Monday to thursday. But started immediately on Friday and drove fine all day Friday.

2003/53 ML 270CDI (120,000Mls. Owned since 2008) Car was stood all last week. Not used at all Monday to thursday. But started immediately on Friday and drove fine all day Friday. If air was leaking in, fuel leaking out, wouldn’t that be more likely to have happened during that 4 days, monday-thursday and prevented starting on Friday?

To release the connections, just squeeze the white clip IN, this causes the jaws of the fitting to expand and allow you to pull out the connection (whilst still squeezing the clip). ps…………check for leaks from any of the 3 ‘caps’ of the high pressure pump as they have been known to leak fuel which will also cause air to enter the system.
