Why does power steering turn one way but hard to turn the other way?
Power steering turns one way but hard to turn the other way. Gearbox or power steering pump problem? Can easily change both but need to be certain. I think its the gear box.

Is there power steering on a 01 A6?
’01 A6 with 95k…I have noticed intermittent hard turning to the right at low speeds…only to the right though, turning left is fine. It feels like there is no power steering, then all the sudden it will start working. It does NOT seem to be temperature related.

Where does power steering fluid go in a 1500?
The 1500has seperate brake fluid and seperate power steering fluid. reservoir ps fluid goes to gear box. brake fluid lines go to brakes. 2500 have power boost. A hydro booster runs off the power steering fluid system. So a hose goes from the ps cooler or gear box and to the booster, then a return line runs from the booster back to the ps pump.
