Why does my Toyota Sienna have an oil leak?
The source seem to be the sealer Toyota used and failed on the 3.5 V6. Sienna, Highlander, Avalon (a few) all suffer with this issue. They all were told the engine need to be dropped in order to perform the fix. After doing more KBB, trade in $ we decide NOT to spend $$$ addressing this issue.

How much does oil leak from timing cover cost?
Hoping to at least get $4500, lowest I will accept would be $3500. Yes I feel entitled lol. Anyways, I did my research and found out that recently (08-10-15) the 05 had the Fluid leak and the details says they found the leak from the timing Cover Seal.
Well I learned the hard way to always have a mechanic check a used car even if you think you know a little bit lol. 2007 Sienna LE 104k miles. I take it to the dealer after buying it and find out it has had the engine swapped already. And theres a oil leak. Sigh. Dealer thought it was the VVT gasket leaking so they fixed that!

The recall for the VVT was just to replace the rubber hose and not upgrade to the metal line. Some members have changed out that line to a metal one but it is on there dime. Not Toyota. All I can say is that area needs to be cleaned up and source the leak.

Spending $2500 will ONLY bring the car to market value. May as well sell it and use that $2500 on top to get another newer one. At least that’s the plan for now. As for oil, I have dealer all the oil change on our Toyota using 5W-30 synthetic blend. A wise move.
