Why does my sled lose power at half throttle?
I’ve had this problem since I bought the sled two years ago. Sled had 1050 miles on it when I bought it. It has plenty of power from idle to half throttle, but get to WOT and there is no more power; kind of like cutting out/bogging/not getting fuel. It pretty much can get to 7500 rpm and that is it.
Why does my sportsman 500 cut out at half throttle?
A few days ago our 2000 Sportsman 500 started cutting out at about half throttle. Throughout the entire rpm range a hollow sound is made. It sounds like when I start my Honda without the air filter on. It has a near identical sound. It just feels like it doesn’t have the power at the upper rpm levels.
When does a Polaris Sportsman 500 lose power?
It does not back fire. When climbing a hill or on flat ground it reaches a certain power level and that’s all. Once in awhile when climbing a hill it will get it’s power back for just a second then return to its lower power level no matter how much throttle you give it.
Why is my Polaris Sportsman bogging down on the road?
I just bought a used 500 1998 model with no history.After cleaning carb and new plug it starts and idles fine. On the road when you hit 15 mph it just looses power. It doesn’t slow down but just acts like it is in too high of gear.
Why is my Polaris cutting out at 1 / 2 throttle?
I had the same problem last year it was running great and started to cut in and out at 1/2 throttle. I messed with jets and cleaned the carb. By accident I bumped the positive lead on the battery and noticed it moved. Problem was solved. I quess it was getting enough juice to start but not when the rpms went up.
