Why does my Mazda CX3 seatbelt stop retracting?
My 2015 CX3 rear passenger seatbelt stopped retracting a couple of weeks ago. After advice from my mechanic I sent the below email to Mazda via their online form. Someone called Jade (coincidence) called me withina few days from Customer Service and asked me to take it to be diagnosed. They fixed it that day at no cost.

As luck would have it I bought a 2016 sTouring used from a dealer, not a Mazda dealer, and noticed the seatbelt issue the next day. I notified the dealer who fixed it under the statuatory warranty today. They contacted Mazda who said it was a known issue and sent them an updated seatbelt and/or assembly.

Yesterday I pulled the passenger seat belt out all the way so that I could fasten some cargo to the seat. As far as I know this is something normal, pull it out and when it goes back in it’s locked so that you can adjust it and fasten something like a child seat.
