Why does my Lexus RX 350 make a knocking noise?
Lexus Europe found that this knocking sound is coming from the inner oil valve of the shock absorbers and claim it is normal. I have my own reservations for a car of this quality and value. It will be interesting to know if other owners have experiensed the noise. Any feedback please?
Why does my Lexus V6 rattle when I cold start the car?
The first cold start of the morning some Toyota and Lexus V6 owners, especially those who have the 2.5L or 3.5L V6, notice a loud rattle the first few seconds after startup. The noise disappears after the car builds oil pressure. The most common cause is the variable valve timing camshaft gear assembly leaking down oil pressure as it sits.
Is there a recall on Lexus 3.5L direct injection engine?
The problem led to enough failures that Lexus’s repair bulletin was upgraded into a full blown recall for some 3.5L direct injection engine (recall DLG). For reasons unknown these gears were more likely to fall apart and throw debris.

What to do if your Lexus car is whining?
A very easy way to diagnose the problem is to apply some belt dressing to the serpentine belt. If the sound goes away, replace the belt. Another possibility is that the pulleys are worn out. Diagnose this by spraying them with WD-40. A failing Alternator will also whine constantly as they fail.
Why does my Lexus have a ground loop?
