Why does my Jeep Cherokee say service shift?
Turned the car off and on several times and same thing. Check engine warning light comes on and error message pops into the display and says Service Shifter. When you go into the diagnostics reading – there are no codes that display. I had to let the Jeep sit in the driveway, guess I am glad it malfunctioned there versus some parking lot!!

Service shifter error solved. SERVICESHIFTER ERROR SOLVED. We bought our 2016 JeepCherokee in December 2015. Ever since, we have been getting “ServiceShifter” error messages. Also, all of the indicator lights onthe shifter would go on. I don’t quire remember, but I don’t thinkit would shift then either.
