Why does my Honda foreman not shift gears?

:confused I have a 2004 Honda Foreman that wont shift gears. The Gear selector indicator flashes 5 times and that indicates a ECM motor driver circuit. The 4 wheel drive selector also has stoped working. I have put power direct to the electric shift motor but it appears dead.

Just bought a 350 Rancher, and when I was going through the motor I removed the ES shift motor reduction gears and installed a footshift spindle and shifter. Don’t see the point in the ES machines. If you don’t want to shift, at least get an automatic.

What’s the fuse on a Honda shift motor?

The battery is new, I checked all the fuses BTW the wiring diagram calls for a 15A fuse going to the shift motor, but the white fuse box in the battery tray calls for 30A …. not sure what’s up there.
