Why does my e brake light beep when I brake?
Everyone try it. Next time you need to brake just pull the E brake up lighty and hold it so it slows the car down. After like 5 seconds the car will start beeping at you. To the OP, the switch under the E-Brake handle is probabily messed up. 2012 Golf – Gone in BUYBACK. Replaced with 2015 Golf same warning light….its the brake warning light.

One other suggestion, to eliminate the most obvious- check the area of the parking brake lever, to make sure something (sunglass case, drink mug, whatever) isn’t preventing the parking brake lever from being fully in the “down” position.
