Why does my car make noise when I press the brake?
There was no visible issue under the hood that I could find. My fluid was at a normal level, the sound only occurs when the car is moving. If it’s a few mph or stationary, there is no sound when pressing the brake. Any help is appreciated.
What makes a hissing sound when applying the brakes?
I recently noticed that when applying the brakes, I can hear a hissing sound that is similar to air being released. The car is a 2006 Infiniti g35x. I did a thorough search and the problem that comes up says brake booster issue. However, I did some tests with the pedal and turning the car on/off and seeing if the pedal goes down a little.
Why does my vacuum make noise when I push the pedal?
The vacuum boost section has a leak and will not seal on the push rod when the pedal is depressed. The leak is not sufficient to prevent booster operation, so there will be no other obvious indication. You can disconnect the vacuum hose at the booster (and plug the end) to see if the noise goes away.
Can a faulty ABS pump cause your brakes to lock up?
Get professional advice as soon as possible. The whole purpose of an ABS system is to prevent your brakes from locking up in tough conditions and situations, giving you a high degree of traction. However, if your brakes are locking up under normal driving conditions this may be caused by a faulty ABS pump.

What should I do if my car makes a grinding noise when I brake?
You are supposed to replace the pads so they don’t grind your rotors down to a tissue. If you replace your pads on time, you can often keep your rotors. If you’ve been driving and braking despite the grinding noise for a while, expect to replace your rotors and maybe some other parts as well.
What should I do if I hear a thumping noise on my brakes?
Do this three to five times, while keeping a steady speed; the noise should disappear, or at least be 90% gone. Then drive the car at normal speeds and use the brakes the way you normally would. If the noise has not changed, you may have a different thumping noise than what I have described here in this article.

How to know if your air brake system is faulty?
Brakes Release Too Slowly -Brakes need adjusting or lubricating. -Brake valve not returning to fully released position. -Restricted tubing or hose. -Exhaust port of brake valve, quick release valve, or relay valve restricted or plugged. -Faulty brake valve, quick release valve, or relay valve. -If remote mounted brake valve, check linkage.
What causes air brakes to release too slowly?
Brakes Apply Too Slowly -Brakes need adjusting or lubricating. -Low air pressure in the brake system (below 60 psi). -Insufficient brake valve delivery pressure. -Excessive leakage with brakes applied. -Restricted tubing or hose. -Treadle travel restricted. -If remote mounted brake valve, check linkage. 3.)
