Why does my bike squeak when I hit a bump?
Your rear axle could have moved slightly if the impact was large enough and the axle not fully tightened to spec. A too loose belt will squeal. As stated above, the bump could have been so jarring that your rear axle moved, causing the belt to loosen. It doesn’t take much to tighten or loosen a belt.
