Why does my 2014 Jeep Patriot not start?
I have a 2014 Jeep Patriot with 21 miles and 4 days after we took possession of it wouldn’t start for when the tow truck driver arrived it started for him, but I took it to the dealer anyway. They had it for several days and said it wouldn’t repeat the problem and no codes were found when they checked it.
Is there a tipm for the Jeep Patriot?

Click to expand… It is built in to the back of the main fuse board or power module (TIPM) depending on who is describing it. Just traced the starter command wire from the selenoid back through the car to that part of the fuse panel. I’m starting to wonder if it could be a neutral sensor where ever that is.

Two weeks ago, I went out to start it and it wouldn’t start. No crank or anything. Battery is nearly new, all lights lit up brightly, radio worked fine. I looked into it and there is a TSB for the wireless control module, and a simple quick fix is to disconnect the battery for 30 seconds and reconnect and that will reset the WCM.

This seams to be a common problem with the wk but i was always told that if it clicks its the battery or corrosion on a connection on the battery from a loose wire or corrosion. When a starter goes bad the starter wont click at all it should be completely dead with no clicking.

Mine showed p1279 starter circuit 2 open. I spliced into a wire directly at the tipm. Cant remember the colour right now exactly. But it was in the small brown connector.
