Why do my brakes sound like a spring?
Hello. Typically this is caused by the brake return spring of the brake pedal assembly. The spring itself will rub on the surrounding metal and cause this to occur. Most of the time the spring can be moved slightly or lubricated to repair this.
What do you do when you change your brakes?
Typically when brake jobs are completed, a professional mechanic will spray brake cleaner liberally on the calipers and rotor to remove any brake dust that has embedded in between the two components. If this is not completed, the extra brake dust will be trapped between the fresh pad and the rotor.
Can a caliper not release cause brake drag?
Just like with the master cylinder not releasing causing the brake drag, a caliper not releasing and staying applied can do the same thing. If only one position is dragging, this could be the case.
