Which is better exhaust or intake?
It’s best to have slightly more air intake than exhaust. This creates positive air pressure, which reduces “dead spots” in the case, without air circulation, and it prevents dust from coming in through unfiltered openings. There’s no need to filter the exhaust fans; no sense trapping in dust.
Is it better to have an AIO as intake or exhaust?
Intake is better for the thing that is being cooled by the AIO. Not for the system. CPU performance doesn’t degrade if it’s 2-3C higher (intake vs exhaust), as long as it’s below the throttling range.
Is it bad to have more exhaust than intake?
If you have more exhausts than intakes, it means all the air/dust tries to get into case through all the gaps in case which aren’t filtered and you would need to clean PC more. also may not blow heat out as well.
Is it bad to have all exhaust fans?
It’s a fine balance. A single exhaust at back, and covered top ports creates enough low pressure area to help that influx of intake air, which drags with it gpu heat collected up top. 2x fans, one rear and one top rear would be better, higher draw.
Should bottom case fans be intake or exhaust?
floor mounted case fan should always be intake, as it draws in cool air from the bottom underneath the case and blows it upward toward your exhaust fans on top. a well positioned fan on the bottom should lower your GPU temperatures significantly, but won’t do much for your CPU.
Is 4 intake and 1 exhaust enough?
that works fine. 3 and 1 will also work fine. 4 and 1 is probably overkill.
Is it OK to have no exhaust fans?
Yes, you need exhaust fan(s) as well. You want to move air through the case, not just blow it around inside.
Is it okay to have no intake fans?
You don’t want just fans exhausting air out of the case, although for most applications this may be enough. You will get better cooling performance if you’re also bringing cool air into the case, and not just passively.
