Which is better a KZ550 Ltd or 650?
I have an ’83 LTD. The LTD’s are more prevalent, but the Standard is also a great looking bike. The 550’s were a little quicker than the 650/750’s of the time for a couple of years, because they’re lighter. But with the 6 speed trnasmission you have to get used to keeping the revs higher and down shifting more.
How many miles does the Kawasaki KZ550 Ltd have?
I can honestly say my ’81 KZ550 LTD has 33,xxx miles on it w/o a major tear down and runs very well even with the mild upgrades I’ve installed on it. I beat on it w/o a worry in the world about getting back home.
Is the KZ550 Kawi a reliable bike?
The KZ550 was a solid, reliable bike. Finally got a Kawi! My dad has one and no prblems at around 33K miles. Alothugh at around that they need a full gasket kit. Excellent choice Joel, and welcome to the forum. I have an ’83 LTD.
Is the Kawasaki 550 a good bike to buy?
Generally the 550’s are solid bikes – one minor point is they don’t have many engine parts interchangable with other size bikes – so if you need engine parts, you’re really stuck with using other 550 parts (whereas the 650/700/750 fours and the 900/1000 fours share many common parts).
