Where is the starter relay on a Harley Davidson?
Can someone please tell me where my bike’s starter relay is located? Some have said it’s back by the battery compartment, others have said it’s between the fuel tanks the only stuff I saw between the fuel tanks were mainly a bunch of wires…..my bike is a 1986 Heritage Softail (1340cc Evo). Any assistance would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Hi Kelly, Under your left side cover, you will find a fuse block containing headlamp, ignition, lighting, instruments, brakes, cruise, radio memory, radio power, accessory, etc fuses. You will need to remove the fuse block cover to access these fuses. It is a black, plastic cover.

I believe that your starter relay is behind one of your side covers. You can find the smaller wire that is plugged into your starter and trace it to your starter relay. Or unplug that same wire from the starter, press your start switch and listen for the relay to click. The audible click will help you to find the relay.
