Where is the open hood sensor on a Mercedes clk350?
The hood open sensor/switch for a CLK350, Model Year 2009 is built into the DRIVERS SIDE hood latch (there are 2 latches for the hood, one on the passenger, one on the driver’s side). Just thought I would add this if anyone is looking.
How do you open the hood on a Mercedes Benz?
Simply reach underneath the small sensor housing (you’ll notice the cable running from it back toward the main engine compartment) and you should be able to snap the unit up into proper place. It takes ten seconds, once you know where to find it.
When does the open hood warning come on?
Everytime I drive the car the open hood warning comes on. You can turn it off while driving but once you stop at a light and start again the light comes back on. I have opened the hood and closed it several times with no success.

The sensor switch is on the passenger side of the hood latch. The sensor fell down from its mounting enough to where when the hood was closed it could not contact the sensor. I pulled it back in place and all was good. Fixed it. The sensor switch is on the passenger side of the hood latch.
