Where can I replace Denali air shocks with gas shocks?
I thought of replacing the shocks with Monroe air shocks, but couldn’t find the right shocks. I finally found a PAIR of OEM replacement (Delphi) autoride air shocks at Arnott Inc. for $479. I had them drop shipped to where we were on vacation. It took about 30 minutes to replace both shocks.
Can you replace air shocks on a Yukon 4WD?
I would think the fit would be the same, (as for a standard Yukon 4WD, and just disconnect the air compressor either via the fuse or the harness. Also, would disconnecting the air system cause the ecm to throw a code? Thanks in advance. I just had one of my rear air shocks blow out while on vacation. The dealer wanted $625 for one shock!

These will retain the air ride control but replace the problematic electronic dampening with standard gas shocks. They will be a little more reliable than OEM, still retain a nice ride with the rear air springs and are a little easier to install.

What’s the fault with my GMC Yukon Denali?
The fault can range from a leaky component (air hose, one of the air shocks), a bad height position sensor, electric connection to your on-board compressor to a bad compressor and etc… Hope its nothing serious. Good Luck! I agree with previous poster.

1. repair and keep the car til it dies a miserable death b/c fixing the suspension will get me at LEAST another 75K miles! 2. Trade it in and buy a new-to-me one (maybe an ’05 or ’06) b/c the cost of repair is more then I should pay given the value of the car. 3. Other — b/c there is always an other Help! Why does my rear air suspension not fill up?
The rear air suspension fails to fill up when the temp drops below freezing. You can hear the compressor running, but it does not fill up. It has been looked at several times by different mechanics and no fixes seem to satisfy the problem. Only taking it inside for a few hours and allowing it to warm up seems to make it better.

Used a quick-strut assembly Monroe 139104 for the front. Put ACDelco 540-1675 air shocks in the rear. Knocked it out over the weekend in the garage. WOW, what a difference in the ride!

That includes 4 shocks, springs, etc… the whole 9 yards. I have same issue on 2002 Denali, but the air pump is bad too. I was quoted $500 ea shock for GM shocks plus $450 for the Arnott pump, but I found surplus GM shocks at a wholesaler, for $175 each, plus a better aftermarket pump for $200!
