When to Turn Off Accessory mode on Honda CRV?
So maybe someday Honda will put Accessory mode on a timer — after, say 2 minutes, with your foot off the brake, you’d only push the button once to shutoff Accessory mode. OK, it’s an added complication.
Why is my car stuck in accessory mode?
Went to start the car this morning and had a strange experience. The car seemed to go into accessory mode instead of starting, and then I couldn’t get it to do anything else: I couldn’t get it to turn off, nor could I get it to start.
Do you push the start / stop button twice on a Honda CRV?
Yes, it’s not a big deal to push the START/STOP button twice. But it feels wrong to needlessly activate all the ignition electronics — especially since my foot is off the brake, so I’m not starting the car. Of course maybe there are instances when you’d want the ignition ON with the engine off.
How does a car go into accessory mode?
If you don’t have your foot on the brake when you push the Start button, then the car goes into Accessory Mode. If you press the button again, with your foot off the brake, it goes into the On mode, which is just like if you had a key and turned it all the way on but without going to Start.

Why is my Honda Civic in accessory mode?
My car is 2 years old with 17k miles on it. So I was sitting in my car in accessory mode while setting up my car play with my new phone. Next thing I noticed was an electronic brake error, so I turned off the car and then it wouldn’t start. We then were able to jump start the car. The car was in accessory mode for maybe 15 mins.
