When to change transmission filter on Honda CRV?

Is there an external filter on a Honda transmission?
Older Hondas (like our former ’99 Acura TL with A/T) were never fitted with that external filter (although I DID replace the fluid according to the schedule) and we never had an issue with the transmission. A lot of Honda transmissions have internal filters that can’t be changed except during a rebuild.

Where is the transmission filter on a Honda CRV?
Swap it out once and done. The actual transmission filter is inside the transmission and basically the last part to take out and first part to go in behind the front pump. Not serviceable, dont try to flush and clean it (youll just destroy the tranmission). Just change the fluid as your supposed to and not worry about it.

How often should you change the transmission filter?
Your ATF fluid exits the transmission, thru the cooler then thru the filter before going back into your transmission. That filter is not meant just for the cooler and should be changed along with your ATF every 30 to fifty thousand miles since it’s a drain and fill application.
