You are running your air conditioner when the outside air is below 62 degrees. There is a mechanical failure (kink in refrigerant lines, a blow fan is not running, etc.)
Can a home air conditioner be run below 60?
While most home air conditioners cannot be run below 60 degrees F, this does not mean it is impossible for an air conditioner to safely be run below this temperature. The reason most air conditioners cannot be run below this temperature is a design choice, not an actual physical limitation.
