When does the airbag go off on a Honda CRV?
I bought a 2016 CR-V in late 2018, now after taking a large rug to Fed-X to go back to the buyer, the Passenger Airbag is displayed kinda greyed out on the information screen. I have never seen it before. When I turn the car on I see “OFF” light up in orange below the Passenger Airbag sign, then after 5-6 seconds it goes off.
What should I do if my Honda airbag indicator comes on?
If an adult or teenage passenger is riding in front, move the seat as far to the rear as possible, and have the passenger sit upright and wear the seat belt properly. If the indicator comes on with no front seat passenger and no objects on the seat, or with an adult riding there, something may be interfering with the weight sensors.
What should I do if my car airbag is off?
The first important question here is whether or not the seat is currently occupied. If your seat is occupied, by either a person or something else, then there is a good chance the airbag is off for a reason. Light enough that the weight sensor detects that someone is occupying the seat, but not heavy enough that deploying the airbag is a wise idea.
Why is the square light on on my Honda CRV?
Our concern is that we have NEVER seen the square indicator before yesterday EXCEPT during the self test and then when the OFF light came on at start up, we thought the air bag was possibly off. So, 2013 LX no nav owners….please help me out and take a minute to see if your CRV displays the little square “PASSENGER AIRBAG” indicator ALL THE TIME.

Why does my airbag light keep coming on?
The seat sensors tell the airbag system that the seat is occupied. Some older model vehicles have a manual button to turn the passenger airbag on or off. Look under the seats to see if you can find any part of the wiring harness that has come dislodged or damaged. This is a very common reason why the airbag light comes on.
