So I changed the fuel filter,put in all new spark plugs, changed the gas, tested the compression on the cylinders and they were all right around 115 or 116, then I drained the gas from the cylinders and took off the spark plugs to air out the cylinders.

Can a 1998 Polaris XLT be used as a sled?

Your steering will be sloppy, the brakes will be worn out, the electric start components are worn and the drive belt is shot. The motor is more than likely ready for a fresh top end i.e rings and pistons. Unless you get the sled for free I personally would pass.

That’s not a terrible price for an average to poor condition sled with low miles. Regardless, you stated that the guy never did anything to the sled.
