Is there biodiesel for Jeep Liberty CRD?
Biodiesel is available here but only at 100% and I am not equiped to mix it at the moment so stay with regular diesel. I purchased my 06 Liberty Diesel New, and have had nothing but Problems with a Constant Jerking/Surge at 80Km – 120Km almost like an Engine Miss.
What makes my Jeep Liberty CRD Jerk when I accelerate?
If I accelerate up an onramp with overdrive off and set the cruise at 65 or 70 MPH and wait 5 or 6 seconds before turning overdrive on I never get JERKING. Once in a while I get subtle jerking when running at 45 to 55 MPH in hilly terrain with cruise on and overdrive off.

I usually stay around or just a touch over the speed limit around town, but will not exceed 65 mph on the highway. Generally we see 20-21.5 mpg in mixed driving on our 05/2005 build Liberty CRD. I am on my fourth EGR valve on this diesel engine.

2005 Jeep crd, fuel heater possible fire hazard. Design allows fuel filter head to melt then air enters the diesel system. Engine may stall on highway dangerous thing! mines stalled out and been towed couple times. Chrysler has been poor in fixing this problem.
Can a 2.8 CRD engine work on a 2005 Jeep?
By this I mean if you get one of the early Export 2.8 CRD engines up to 2004…..the engine with a fixed-vane turbo as appossed to the newer 2005/2006 2.8 CRD engine with a variable vane turbo….then this older 2.8 engine will work….you may need some ECU re-programming! Jeep Liberty crd went into limp mode on highway causing vehicle to slow below 40 mph. Fuel/water separator was leaking fuel from pre-heater plug, which shorted out heater plug. Heater plug was scorched on the inside, no fire noted.
