What was the problem with my Jeep Grand Cherokee transmission?
IN JUNE OF 2013 I HAD IT TO THE DEALER JUST BEFORE THE WARRANTY EXPIRED BECAUSE THE CAR WOULD SHAKE AND ALMOST SHUT OFF WHENEVER I STOPPED FOR A TRAFFIC SIGNAL. I WAS TOLD THE PROBLEM WAS WITH THE TRANSMISSION BECAUSE THE TRANSMISSION WASN’T SHIFTING OUT OF SECOND GEAR WHEN I STOPPED.

This would occur periodically throughout the next year and a half or so.

Transmission stopped working. Had to get it towed to dealership. Transmission hose wasn’t properly seated, so it leaked transmission fluid slowly. Problem probably happened when car was assembled. The dealership seated the hose properly, which fixed the leak and they replaced the transmission fluid. Everything seems fine since.

Read from someone else that measured all his ATF drained from his 2008 WK 3.7L and equated to 6 quarts and he got it properly measured at the dealer after he did the job. So that’s a considerable difference to the 7.4 quarts stated in Frangos attachment here.

Solenoid is bad 4. Solenoid harness or connectors are bad. Codes concerning solenoid A and C may or may not be related. Hope this helps someone. This is the 2nd transmission I had to get for Chrysler’s over priced Chinese quality (cheap).
