What to do about idle problem in C270 CDI?
I put a can of cleaner in 1/4 tank of fuel (not 40 litres as it says on the tin) and then drove it hard for about 10-15 miles over a couple of days. Cured the idle problem. Mine is an E220 CDI 1999 with 97,000. Idles better than it ever has.
What’s the Revs hunt on a 03 270 CDI?
Advanced search… I have an 03 270 cdi. I have noticed in park or neutral the revs hunt from 500 to 800 ish. The car runs great with no malfunctions. Can anyone give me a good starting point to find out whats up? I would be interested to hear if anyone has any advice regarding this myself.

To release the connections, just squeeze the white clip IN, this causes the jaws of the fitting to expand and allow you to pull out the connection (whilst still squeezing the clip). ps…………check for leaks from any of the 3 ‘caps’ of the high pressure pump as they have been known to leak fuel which will also cause air to enter the system.

Are there any problems with my 2003 ml270?
Currently 2003 ML270. 2012 Nissan Maxima 250SL. EGR won’t cause those sorts of problems. Sure, black smoke under load but no idling issues. Maybe injector problems. Be good to get codes read before throwing more money at it.

Check for vacuum leaks with a smoke generator injecting smoke into any vacuum line and see where the smoke comes out. That’s a leak that needs to be plugged. Other than that, there is the Idle Control Unit computer and the Idle Control Adjustment Valve, all which control the idle.
