When the low pressure warning device activates?
A low air warning switch is installed after the supply reservoir to alert you when air pressure drops below a safe level 60 psi (414 kPa). The switch activates either (or a combination of) a buzzer, warning light or a wig-wag (a “flag” that drops into the driver’s view).
What must the driver do when a low pressure warning system activates?
Importantly, if the system air pressure drops low enough to activate the warning, the driver must get the vehicle off the road immediately and investigate the source of the problem. Do not continue until the problem is corrected. Below 45psi (310kPa), the emergency spring brakes will apply automatically.
At what air pressure should the low air warning alarm come on?
60 psi
The low air pressure warning signal must come on before the pressure drops to less than 60 psi in the air tank (or tank with the lowest air pressure, in dual air systems). See Figure 5.5. If the warning signal doesn’t work, you could lose air pressure and you would not know it.
Is the low air buzzer required to work?
Click to expand… That LOW AIR BUZZER is a saftey item that is REQUIRED to work by law, be DESIGN it is a attention getter. That LOW AIR BUZZER is a saftey item that is REQUIRED to work by law, be DESIGN it is a attention getter. Click to expand… Yup… since I’m the only one in my truck.
When to use warning signal, air pressure and vacuum?
(2) A warning signal that is audible or visible to a person in the normal driving position and provides a continuous warning to the driver whenever the air pressure in the service reservoir system is at 379 kPa (55 psi) and below, or one-half of the compressor governor cutout pressure, whichever is less. (d) Vacuum brakes.
Is the low air / parking brake buzzer INOP?
As the title says, buzzer inop but warning lights work correctly and shut off at the appropriate pressure/parking brake disengagement. I always look at the gauges anyway but as annoying as this buzzer is I need to get it working. Is the fix replacing the FSWM or am I missing something here?
Where is the warning buzzer located on my truck?
The TM states, “WARNING ALARM BUZZER is located above left cowl vent.” My truck is 10 miles away at the moment or I would simply go look, but I’m assuming they’re talking about the vent inside the cab near the driver’s left leg. Is this correct? Thank you. Correct. Located about an inch above the screen of the driver’s side cab vent. Correct.
