What kind of engine does a Dyna Super Glide have?
The bike is a 2003 Dyna Super Glide stock engine. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what might cause this or has it every happen to anyone else. Things were fine until last week I stop to get gas after riding maybe 40 miles or so and when I was ready to go the bike won’t start. After waiting say 15 or 20 minutes, it starts fine.

Michael’s Reply: Purchased 2007 Heritage Special, August 2012 with 10,477 miles on it. The problem randomly while riding the 6th gear indicator will go out, the speedometer drops to “0”, odometer stays on but stops recording mileage, no codes are displayed.

What kind of EFI does a 2000 fltrsei have?
I have a 2000 FLTRSEI that had MM EFI. I got tired of cold start/idle issues that I could not fix. My bike is a different case. Being a factory screaming eagle the program that was flashed to the computer was unique to the FLTRSEI. If I reflashed and ever wanted to go back to stock I would have had to buy anothe ECM fromHD with the FLTRSEI flash.

Mine would do the exact same thing, its a 2007 softail deluxe. It turned out the battery to be the problem. The reason its intermittent is the bike will start running weird in other words it would take a charge but if for some reason that charge did not hold for long the bike will start running weird again.

Check air filter.You might have a nest in there. That too, from sitting a lot water can condense inside the carb especially if you live in a humid area….the float bowl could be poluted with water buildup….that messes up everything when it comes to running smooth… Thanks Badinfluence…
