What is VW T25?
The T25 or T3 which it is sometimes known as was the 3rd generation VW Transporter by Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles. Produced between 1980 and 1991 it was the replacement for bay window or T2 VW Transporter. Much squarer in design than earlier versions, it was to be the last of the rear engined VW Transporters.

When did the VW T25 camper van come out?
Also known as the Vanagon, Microbus, Caravelle, T3 or more commonly, T25, it first appeared in 1979 with the Bay Window’s rear-mounted air-cooled engine. Water-cooled diesel and petrol engines appeared later in 1982-83.
What kind of engine does a VW T25 have?
It was based on the Type 4 unit and first saw VW bus duties in the later Bay Window. Its twin Solex carbs, however, are troublesome; they are prone to air leaks and tricky to balance and often replacement is the best remedy.
When did the VW Type 25 diesel come out?
The first VW T3 Diesel engine appeared in 1981, and then later a Type 25 turbo diesel model was offered in August 1984, for the 1985 model year. The normally aspirated version came as a 1600cc CS code in 1981-87 and then as a 1700cc KY code in 1984-92. The T3 1600cc Turbo Diesel was a JX code, and was offered in 1984 through to 1992.
Is the T25 1600cc the same as the type 25 engine?
