Cab chassis is 2.5T, Wagon is 3.5T. I cannot understand why this is as they both share the same chassis as the Wagon. Funny thing is in 2007, Nissan updated there cab chassis increasing braked towing capacity to 3.2T with the introduction of the 3.0TD. I don’t believe you can increase the rating very easily without an engineers certificate.

Manual patrols have a 3200kg tow capacity but auto only has 2500kg. Research to date suggests that this restriction is due to the auto not locking the torque converter causing the box to overheat.
