What is a knock harness?
The knock sensor senses vibrations caused by engine knocks and then sends signals to the powertrain control module (PCM). If a knock is detected, the PCM will retard the timing to protect the engine from damaging pre-ignition. Open.
Where does the knock sensor plug in?
A knock sensor is typically attached directly to the outside of the engine block, but in some cases, it is located underneath the intake manifold.
How much does it cost to replace a knock sensor?
You can always just put it back together and run it while you wait for any parts or supplies. The harness might be easily repairable. It’s certainly not a quick disassemble/re-assemble job. I think it bills at about 5 hours. A new harness is inexpensive at ~$30. I’ll probably just buy the harness and bypass hose to have on hand.
Can a spark plug cause a knock sensor to go out?
Bad gas, worn spark plug and mechanical problems generally won’t result in a loss of signal from the knock sensors. This is a knock sensor problem, not a detonation problem. he was able to get a mirror or scope under the intake and observed some signs of rodent damage on the harness Rodents like closed-in cubbies like that.
What is the code for the knock sensor?
The code is 0325 which is saying the sensor is faulty, not that it’s just detected knock. I would love to dream up some other reason as to why my problem is happening, and I usually do, but this seems pretty straight forward. Without removing the knock sensor and testing what more diagnosis would you recommend?
Are there knock sensors on a Silverado 5.3?
I installed 2 new knock sensors in my 2001 Silverado 5.3 after getting the P0332 code. Also installed a new harness, cleaned everything, RTV sealed the plugs, etc…
Is there a new knock sensor wire harness?
I considered relying on the old knock sensor wiring harness, but was so glad I got the new harness in addition to the sensors, as one of the old sensor nipples broke off in the old harness upon removal and I would have kicked myself thinking to try to save the money for what turned out to me to be a full-weekend job in replacing sensors.

Can you replace knock sensor on 2002 Tahoe?
I used this to replace my sensors in my 2002 Tahoe. They are made to ground on the engine so make sure to have clean contacts for them. Mine were very rusty. Also vacuum out the whole before removing the knock sensor mine had a lot of debris in there.
