Likley what happens is the transmission gets s aignal from the shifter to tell it it’s in park, then broadcasts a message on the |J1939 datalink to tell the Freightliner electrical system to trigger the output.\\
Is there a brake enable switch on a frieghtliner m2?
If you look at the transmission diagram, it doesn’t show any wire connected to the E Brake enable output. I think the function is probably a multiplexed circuit.. there is really no need for a seperate switch.

Where is the parking brake light on a Freightliner?
I discovered that there is a Green Wire running from the front panel (under drivers window) to the rear panel (last bay on passenger side) that connects to a solenoid. It was barely holding on and came off when I pulled on it. I reattached it and tested the slides. They worked fine.
