What happens if you use the wrong refrigerant?
When using these types of propane refrigerants it is possible that they could combust when putting them in units where they are not designed. This can cause great bodily harm, property damage, and in a severe case even death.
What happens if you put R-22 in a R410a system?
Understand this: The mineral oil in a compressor has a vapor pressure. If that’s so, then what R22 there is in the system can never evaporate under the higher suction pressure of R410a. It will just flood back to reduce the compressor life and will greatly reduce the system capacity.
Can I put 134A in a R-22 system?
Using R134a in Systems Designed for R22 If you have a home or auto air conditioner designed to work with R22 refrigerant, and the system needs a recharge, a number of issues prevent the direct substitution of R134a. R134a has a lower thermal conductivity than R22, so an R134a system needs a larger heat exchanger.
Why does the Freon hose not fit the low pressure port?
And I can not for the life of me fit the hose onto the low pressure port to charge my ac. I pressed the cap down and tried to fit it on the low pressure, I’m doing everything right, and I cant figure out why it wont fit. If I press it down while holding down the lever on the hose I will hear pressure escaping from the port but it wont attach.
What should my AC low side pressure be?
When the engine is on and the AC is on high, low pressure readings should be around 30 psi and the high pressure side should be about 250 psi depending on your car. The correct reading will display once the clutch engages and the gauge stops cycling.
What’s the difference between low and high pressure air conditioners?
The thinner line will be the low pressure side. You can remove the plastic dust cap and snap your blue line onto the schrader valve underneath. Then, do the same thing on the high pressure side. On an r134a system, the valves are different sizes so that you can’t accidentally mix them up. This may not be the case with other types of refrigerant.
What does it mean when your AC pressure is on both sides?
If there are readings on both the high and low sides but they are not the correct specified pressures, it means that certain parts of the AC system are not functioning properly, such as the expansion valve, compressor, and clutch. AC pressure readings and what they mean
