What does VDC off slip mean on a Nissan Altima?
Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) system is the name for Nissan’s traction/stability control system. The VDC system has the ability to apply the brakes to any one the Altima’s wheels, and can alter the engine speed. This combination of control over the vehicle can keep it from sliding off the road when it otherwise would.
Why are the VDC off and SLIP lights on at the same time?
Turn off the car and re-start it and go for a drive above 19MPH and the lights will turn off and remain off if there is no fault, if the fault is still present the lights will turn back on until the error is fixed. It’s how I figured what my problem is.

VDC, check engine, and slip light will come on. will have to turn over engine for a couple seconds before it starts up again. will run fine after that, until it shuts off at idle again. at a cold start, sometimes it will start up fine other times it will take a few seconds. engine turn over is fast, so i doubt it is the battery.
