What does the p0238 OBD-II trouble code mean?
Code P0238 is triggered when the intake boost sensor circuit shorts to power or opens completely, causing the signal to the ECM to go way over, or below voltage specifications. The most common failure is the boost sensor shorted internally, or the harness has been shorted on the exhaust manifold. Need help with a P0238 code?
How much does it cost to repair a car p0238?
The auto repair labor rates vary widely across the country, and even within the same city. Most auto repairs shops charge between $75 and $150 per hour. When is the P0238 code detected? This diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P0238 will set if the boost pressure sensor signal is above the predicted range.
What does the boost pressure light on p0238 mean?
Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light) P0238 Meaning The Boost Pressure Sensor responds to pressure changes in the intake manifold. This pressure is created by the turbocharger and changes with Accelerator Pedal Position (APP) and engine speed.
What is the diagnostic code for turbocharger boost sensor a circuit high?
P0238 is a diagnostic trouble code (DTC) for “Turbocharger Boost Sensor A Circuit High”.
What does the p0238 code on an engine mean?
What the P0238 code means. P0238 is an OBD-II generic code triggered when the Engine Control Module (ECM) detects the intake boost pressure sensor A input circuit out of specifications, indicating an open circuit or high voltage condition in the circuit.

Which is p0238 p0106 code turbocharger boost sensor?
We finally fixed to where it is driveable and all at sudden we got 2 codes that triggered the engine light. One of the code is P0238 Turbocharger/Supercharger Boost Sensor “A” Circuit High and the other is P0106 Manifold Absolute Pressure / Barometric Pressure Circuit Range / Performance. Our problem was damaged wire to the MAP Sensor.
When does DTC p0238 set boost pressure?
The PCM uses this variable voltage to calculate actual boost pressure. Zero boost pressure equals about .5 volts, maximum boost reads about 4.5 volt. DTC P0238 is set when the PCM sees a boost pressure voltage greater than 4 volts at a time when no boost is being commanded.
What does the p0328 code mean on a knock sensor?
A P0328 code is a generic DTC, thus it applies to all makes of vehicles, and refers to a high output voltage of the knock sensor. In many cases, this means the voltage is above 4.5V but that specific value depends on the specific make and model of vehicle. This code refers to the sensor on bank #1.
